Shredding the Future; Honoring the Past; Thanking the Present!
Well, I promised you an update and here we go…The music business is a rocky road to say the least and anybody who has been part of it, knows this going in. Expectations are high, and achievements are hard, but in the end, it is all worth it. We live, we learn, we persevere, and we move forward stronger, faster and more furious than when we started. This past year of Forgotten Man has not been without its peaks and valleys; potholes and smooth roads, bumps, bruises and bandages however, we are still here, we have survived, and we are determined.
Over the first year we were able to build the brand, produce an album and 8 singles; start our initiatives and maded lots of new friends across the globe. We started the Forgotten Man Music Blog, have collaborated with and encountered some extraordinary musicians, as well as, met some incredible people in the wonderful and wacky world of Rock and Music in general. We are grateful for you all! But as always this is a balanced world and with good, comes bad, or else we would have nothing to achieve; all would be bliss and we would not have anything to work toward or learn. It all about learning, and it is the mistakes which teach us and make us stronger and better.
We have also stepped on some landmines but were able to counter-weigh and walk away whole; we shed some dead weight, circumnavigated some truly psychotic and/or egocentric people (as one does, when in the entertainment industry) and overcome some personal obstacles to do with health and well-being. The end result, we are still here and stronger than ever despite some’s attempts at trying to destroy what we worked so hard to build. We are going nowhere and intend on going the distance providing the universe will allow.
We thank each and every one of you for joining us on this journey and hope that you will continue to do so as we move forward with our mission. We take pride in what we have achieved, as it has been completely organic and unlike some others we earn our friends, likes, fans and followers. We don’t purchase them to look bigger than we are. But enough of that, on to the good stuff.
Moving forward:
The Music:
A new album is imminent, so look for it in 2019. Andrew is in the process of finishing 3 news songs and working on 4 additional tracks as we speak. We are starting to form the new band Forgotten Man and hope to have that completed by the end of the year. If you visit Wangies in Manchester this Thursday, August 16, 2018 — you might just get a surprise!!!
The Initiative:
“One Nation Under Rock” has been launched, as has the Collective. Our hope is to be able to create a program in which Independent musicians can generate revenue in addition to reunite the rock industry under one bucket. Bring the genres back together as it were. As you know, we feel that the industry has not only become over-saturated but has also become over-genre’d. It is the segregation of the genres which has done the most damage. In reuniting the genres we hope that we can illuminate and put the spotlight back rock once again…it is still the number one music listened to in the world (https://forgottenmanproductions.com/2018/06/14/reuniting-rock-music/) …we need to make that clear globally.
The Kids:
We are still working with the kids of Salford Musical Youth, as well as Dexter Sinner. Most recently Dexter Sinner has started to perform feat: Elena Vance of Forgotten Man as their “stand-in” lead vocalist until they can find a suitable replacement for their lead vocalist who departed to go to College. Andrew has been working with Dexter Sinner for 2 years and brought them for losing competitions to winning in this short time. They wowed the audience at a recent Youth Event, and wills tart performing live in the Manchester area…as I said, if you stop by Wangies in Manchester this Thursday you might just have a treat.
Services:
In the coming month we will focus on a package dedicated to marketing for musicians. We did a little bit last year. But have not been promoting it. This will change in the coming months. We have noted that many musicians either do not have the time, or do not understand the nature of Social Media and what works on the internet. We realize that funds are limited, so we are attempting to put together a package that can be financially attractive, but also robust enough to help them, which can also be customized to what they need. So watch this space.
As always, we offer a host of services running the gamut. From songwriting, to mentoring bands, to helping you produce your music. So, feel free to contact us, should you require assistance. It is easy to think you can do everything yourself, but sometimes a musician’s worst enemy is themselves. It helps to have a neutral pair of ears in the process of making and performing music.
Search for New Music:
We are always looking for new bands with an interesting sound. So please feel free to message us with bands, and musicians who you feel are truly rock-centric , any rock sub-genre will do. We would love to listen and share their music. Sharing truly quality new music is central to Rock surviving the onslaught of all the other genres.
As always, thank you for your support, the likes, the shares, the comments and the messages. We love you guys as much as we love Rock itself!
Cheers,
